THE HENRY ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION CELEBRATES BOXING LEGEND HENRY ARMSTRONG’S 75th ANNIVERSARY OF MAKING BOXING HISTORY ON AUGUST 17, 1938, DEFEATING LOU AMBERS FOR HIS LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. ARMSTRONG IS THE ONLY BOXER IN HISTORY TO EVER HOLD THREE UNIVERSALLY RECOGNIZED TITLES - SIMULTANEOUSLY - A FEAT NEVER TO BE MATCHED.

HE WON THE WORLD FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE FROM PETEY SARRON ON OCTOBER 29, 1937, THE WORLD WELTERWEIGHT TITLE FROM BARNEY ROSS ON MAY 31, 1938, AND THE WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE IN HIS FIGHT, ON AUGUST 17, 1938 AGAINST LOU AMBERS.

The Henry Armstrong Foundation would like to thank Neneki “Nick” McGee of ARTISTIC GRAPHICS for designing Henry Armstrong’s 75th anniversary T-shirt and for donating the following artwork to the Henry Armstrong Foundation to help support our cause. Neneki’s artwork has been featured on TV, movies, music videos and photo shoots. His airbrushed clothing designs for a wrestler have been featured on televised episodes of WWE’s SmackDown and WWE’s SuperStars.
